The award and closing ceremony of the 36th China Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival was held on November 4 at the Xiamen Strait Grand Theatre. Leaders of the China Film Association, provincial and municipal leaders, representatives, movie stars and other workers in film industry attended the ceremony. The dance troupe from the HQU College of Music and Dance was invited to perform at the event.
Organized and led by Yan Mengmeng, Dean of the Dance Department, and Chen Lei, director of the Art Practice Department, HQU dance troupe performed at the ceremony. The 21 male troupe members stood out after strict selections and spent two weeks on hard practice, presenting the audience with two great dancing shows accompanying Zhou Shen’s What is Human and Yu Shi, Hou Wenyuan and Na Ran’s Ode to Youth.
Yue Bojie, a member of the dance troupe, said, “The Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Awards is a widely acknowledged award for not only excellent films, but also great performances, music, and screenplays that go with the films. I feel so privileged to perform in this ceremony and share the stage with so many outstanding artists. Thanks to my teachers’ guidance and the opportunity provided by the organizers, I not only improved my professional ability during the rehearsals, but also broadened my horizons. I will work much harder in the future.”
