Recently, Chen Ying from the Department of Physics of HQU’s College of Information Science & Engineering published a paper inPhysical Review Letters,a top-ranked international physics journal and a top 5% journal in the rankings of National Science Library of Chinese Academy of Sciences (NSLC) with the latest impact factor of 9.161. The paper, titled “Observation of topological p-orbital disclination states in non-Euclidean acoustic metamaterials”, observed topological p-orbital disclination states in non-Euclidean acoustic metamaterials for the first time, which sheds new light on exploring more typologies of nanomaterials on curved surfaces in the future.

Chen Ying is the first author and corresponding author of the paper, with HQU as the first affiliation. The research was conducted in cooperation with Prof. Chen Huanyang from Xiamen University and Prof. Jiang Jianhua from Soochow University, the other two corresponding authors.

The research was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities, and the Scientific Research Foundation of HQU.

Dr. Chen Ying joined HQU in 2020, and obtained a project supported by the National Science Foundation for Young Scientists of China in 2021 (Grant No. 12104169), a good manifestation of HQU’s effective talent introduction policies.
