Recently,12 outstanding young chemists were granted 2021 Youth Chemistry Awardby theChinese Chemical Society (CCS). Professor Wei Zhanhua from Huaqiao University (HQU) received the honor for the development of a passivation method of perovskite grain phase and surface defects for the efficient construction of perovskite LEDs and solar cells.
Pro.Wei, a doctoral supervisor of HQU Institute of Luminescent Materials and Information Displays and College of Materials Sciences & Engineering, has been fully engaged in the research of perovskite LED and solar cells in recent years.
As the earliest academic award established by the CCS in 1983, the Youth Chemistry Award enjoys a high academic reputation. It is mainly presented to outstanding chemists under 35 who innovate, improve and independently complete their work in the basic research and frontiers in chemistry, chemical applications and engineering, or chemical education. By 2021, 352 young chemists have received the award which is granted on an annual basis.
