Recently, the Ministry of Education officially announced the winners of the 7^thChina International College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and Huaqiao University (HQU) got its best results in the competition with 5 silver and 4 bronze awards.

This is the first time HQU made into the final roadshow of the national competition, and it made breakthrough in many aspects, including the number of registered projects, online comments received for the registered projects, projects entered in the on-the-spot finals, competition tracks and competition categories, as well as the earned awards.

Three of the four Silver Awards go to the projects from the College of Mechanical Engineering and Automation. “The Leader of Intelligent Segmented Plating Technology” (Leader: Lin Qishen, Instructor: Jiang Feng) won the Silver Award in the Undergraduate Creativity Category of the Main Track. “Furuchangju--the Sports Brands Forerunner of Integrated Marketing and Operation” (Leader: Chen Jian, Instructor: Li Yuan) won the Silver Award in the Emerging Project Category of the Main Track. “Road Friction Coefficient Tester” (Leader: Tian Zige, Instructor: Jiang Feng) and “Ultrahigh-speed and Ultra-stable Friction and Wear System” (Leader: Zhang Tao, Instructors: Jiang Feng and Jiang Zhengyi) won the Silver Award of the International Track. The project from the Chinese Culture and Language College “Bridging through Overseas Chinese—Telling Stories of Rural Revitalization” (Leader: Xu Yuan, Instructors: Yuan Yuan, Li Xiaojie, Fang Fang, Wang Yi, Wang Huazhen, and Chen Senlin) won the Silver Award in the Public Service Category of the Building Youth Dream Track.

The project from the College of Chemical Engineering “Banana Liquid Microbial Fertilizer--Resist Disease and Promote Growth” (Leader: Guo Zhiyong, Instructors: Wang Mingyuan, Wang Maoli, and Yu Zongzhong) won the Bronze Award in the Creativity Category of the Building Youth Dream Track. Two projects from the College of Mechanical Engineering and Automation “Wafer Level Ultra-Thin Grinding Wheel” (Leader: Li Mian, Instructors: Mu Dekui, Hu Zhongwei, and Liao Xinjiang) and “Wedo Technology--Leader of 10-nanometer High-precision Micro-displacement Detection Technology in China” (Leader: Jin Huaxue, Instructors: Fan Wei, Wang Yin, and Zhu Laifa) won the Bronze Award in the Postgraduate Creativity Category and the Bronze Award in the Teacher-student Co-creation Category of the Main Track respectively. The project “Guardian—A Self-powered and Breathable Welding Mask with Double Cameras” (Leader: Wang Zhaopei, Instructor: Li Zhongshen) won the Bronze Award in the Undergraduate Creativity Category of the Main Track.
