With 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics underway, students from Huaqiao University (HQU) shot a music video singing the Winter Olympics theme song Together for a Shared Future and delivering their best wishes.

The music video was designed by the Students Affairs Office and created by the art troupe of the university. More than 20 students participated in the recording, many of whom were from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan of China, or were overseas Chinese students from Malaysia, Italy, and other countries.

Yau Manho, a student from Hong Kong, said the art troupe hope to express the best wishes of HQU domestic and international students for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games through this MV. They spent a week or so choreographing and shot it on both Quanzhou and Xiamen campuses. The video also shows the iconic buildings of the two cities, highlighting the charm of the hometowns of overseas Chinese.

In addition, HQU’s Tan Kah Kee Scholarship winners -- overseas Chinese students from Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand and other countries, also made videos to share their views on the Olympic spirit and to send their wishes for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.

Leong Hui Xin a Class 2025 Malaysian Chinese student at the School of Journalism and Communication, expressed her good wishes for all who came to China for the Winter Olympics and said that she hoped all the athletes would do their best and reap good results for their hard training. “Let’s be Faster, Higher, Stronger, Together”, she added.
