On the morning of July 10th, Huaqiao University (HQU) and China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI) Executive Office of China International Publishing Group (CIPG) held a signing and opening ceremony for the co-built center of Talent Training in International Communication. Min Yi, director of CIPG CATTI Executive Office, Wang Jiyu, director of the National Translation Test and Appraisal Center under the CIPG, Xu Xipeng, HQU Party Committee Secretary, Wang Lixia, HQU vice president and other representatives attended and launched the ceremony. Wang Lixia and Wang Jiyu signed the agreement on behalf of both sides.
At the ceremony, HQU was awarded as the CATTI International testing center in Fujian Province. Moreover, Min Yi and Wang Jiyu were hired as MTI practical tutors for the Master of Translation in the College of Foreign Languages of Huaqiao University.
After the ceremony, Wang Jiyu gave a special lecture on “CATTI’s Contribution to the International Communication Capacity”, and analyzed the new pattern of international communication in the post-epidemic era from four aspects including CATTI and internationalization, translation competence and international communication capacity, the globalization of language services and the establishment of appraisal system, and new measures for cultivating applied foreign language talents.
