On May 25^th, Huaqiao University (HQU) signed a student exchange agreement with University of Macau (UM). The agreement will see both universities offer fully-funded student exchange programs. As a follow-up to the framework cooperation agreement renewed in April this year, it aims to strengthen partnership and cooperation in students exchange.

The agreement was signed by HQU president Wu Jianping and UM Rector Song Yonghua. The two sides had constructive and helpful exchanges on substantive cooperation including promoting research collaborations and joint degrees programs.

Earlier in the day, HQU also renewed the cooperation agreement with Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) to facilitate exchange and cooperation in such fields as joint research, postgraduate recommendation and academic faculty exchange. Wu Jianping, president of HQU and Lee Hun Wei Joseph, president of MUST, signed the agreement on behalf of the two universities.

The heads from HQU offices of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese affairs, Board of Directors, Alumni Association, and Liaison Office in Macao also attended the signing ceremonies.

HQU reportedly entered cooperation agreements with UM and MUST for the first time in 2006 and 2016 respectively. They’ve maintained partnerships over the past years.
