On April 10th, Huaqiao University (HQU) organized the Maritime Silk Road culture tour for 47 students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese from Xiamen campus to Quanzhou, the starting point of the Maritime Silk Road and Cultural City of East Asia.

Students were all touched by the unique charm of the Maritime Silk Road culture and marvelled at the rich cultural deposits of the ancient city of Quanzhou. Chen Jinzhao from Hong Kong, a student from College of Civil Engineering of HQU, said，" As an important part of traditional Chinese culture, Hokkien culture with a feature of marching ahead, openness and inclusiveness has benefited me a lot. We, students from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese, should learn and carry forward the guiding principles of the Maritime Silk Road and China’s Belt and Road Initiative, actively participate in building a harmonious society.
