According to the latest statistics published by ESI (Essential Science Indicators) on March 25th, 2021, the Computer Science of Huaqiao University (HQU) ranks in top 1% in the world.

The current ESI ranking includes data ranging from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2020. The Web of Science (WoS) indicates a total of 4,346 citations of HQU papers in the domain of Computer Science, ranking 546th worldwide and 88th in China (including universities and research institutions).

Up to now, four disciplines, i.e., Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering and Computer Science, have entered the top 1% in ESI globally, among which Engineering has made to the top 5‰ and is ranked third in Fujian Province. This symbolizes that the university has achieved remarkable results in discipline construction in recent years, that the overall level of disciplines has significantly improved, and that related disciplines have already gained enormous academic influence in the world.
