On July 2^nd, the results of the Second National Undergraduate Structural Design Contest have been announced. Students from College of Civil Engineering, Huaqiao University (HQU) has won 3 first prizes and a second prize, making a new breakthrough.

Three Teams of HQU have won the first prize in Group A, including Team 1 (contestants are Zhou Fulai, Liu Xiangquan and Xu Hongrui, coached by Liu Yang), Team 3 (contestants are Weng Xiaoxiao, Zhang Chenyang and Chen Zening, coached by Hou Wei), and Team 5 (contestants are Li Weijie, Bian Zhihai and Ni Jialiang, coached by Liu Xiaojuan). Team 4 has won the second prize in Group A (contestants are Wang Baokun, Cai Yuhang and Tang Youwei, coached by Hu Hongsong).

This competition is hosted by Educational Affairs Committee of China Civil Engineering Society (CCES), lasting for 234 days. 1,529 teams from 231 universities participate in Group A. 697 works from 174 universities are eventually submitted. Though affected by the pandemic, the number of participating schools has increased by 23.6%, including Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), Tongji University, Zhejiang University (ZJU), etc.
