The First International Symposium on Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainability for Belt and Road Countries (1st IRS-BRC) was held on Xiamen campus of Huaqiao University (HQU). Over 40 renowned civil engineering experts from Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Hunan University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Hefei University of Technology, and other universities and research institutes in the United States, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Japan, Korea, India and Hong Kong, China, attended the symposium.
The symposium was co-hosted by HQU and Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, organized by College of Civil Engineering of HQU, co-organized by Key Laboratory for Intelligent Infrastructure and Monitoring of Fujian Province, Key Laboratory for Structural Engineering and Disaster Prevention of Fujian Province, Key Laboratory for Structural Engineering and Seismic Resistance of MOE of China, and Fujian Province Higher-Educational Engineering Research Centre for Intelligence and Automation in Construction.
During the conference, the experts had in-depth discussions on laboratory construction, scientific research and international cooperation, and initial cooperation purposes have been reached. Experts paid visits to Laboratory Building of College of Civil Engineering so as to know the construction of HQU's civil engineering discipline platform.
