Huaqiao University (HQU) built another Confucius Institute---Confucius Institute of Ateneo De Davao University (AdDU) of Philippines.
During the 2019 International Chinese Language Education Conference held in Hunan province on December 10th, Ma Jianfei, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Deputy Director-General of Confucius Institute Headquarters, signed a joint-construction agreement with Joel Eduque Tabora, President of AdDU of Philippines. According to the agreement, HQU will co-build Confucius Institute of AdDU of Philippines with the university. Tian Xuejun, Deputy Minister of Education of China awarded the plate of Confucius Institute, and witnessed the signing of the agreement, along with Yu Yunfeng, Deputy Director-General of Confucius Institute Headquarters, and Zeng Lu, Vice President of HQU.
This is the second Confucius Institute that is jointly built by HQU and overseas universities, with the first one being Confucius Institute of Kasetsart University, Thailand. The establishment of this Confucius Institute will further propel HQU to contribute to the international promotion of Chinese language and the overseas popularization of Chinese culture, so as to better serve the national Belt and Road construction.
