The graduation ceremony of the 14th Foreign Government Officials' Chinese Class was held on the morning of July 5th on Xiamen campus of Huaqiao University (HQU). 102 foreign government officials from seven countries --- Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, the Philippines, UAE, Cambodia and Vietnam, working in National Police Administration, Ministry of Commerce, Parliament, Immigration Administration and other departments, successfully completed their one-year study in HQU, China.
Tang Cuiying, inspector of the 10th Bureau of the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee, Xu Xipeng, President of HQU, Maitree Temsiriphong, Vice President of Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association, Mariel Maniego Magaway, Director for Personnel and Records Management of the Philippine National Police, Vikeo Bouphavanh, Deputy Director of the Secretary Department of Lao Prime Minister's Office, Ropharat Aphijanyatham, Consul of the Royal Thai Consulate General in Xiamen, Reigfred P. Albello, Cultural Officer of the Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in Xiamen, and Zeng Lu, Vice President of HQU attended the graduation ceremony and issued certificates to students.
Over the past year, a small class teaching was conducted in HQU, with required courses including Chinese listening, speaking and reading, along with cultural courses and lectures of Chinese traditional music, dance, Wushu, painting, folk artifact art, etc. During the holidays, visits were organized to Mount Huang in Anhui, Beijing (the capital of China), Harbin (the ice city) and Yongchun (the hometown of the Maritime Silk Road), to learn about local cultures, to JD Group to experience great changes brought by artificial intelligence, to People's Daily to understand the development of news media in the Internet era, to China Communications Construction Company Ltd. to feel China's responsibilities in the construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative" and to Fujian Police College to enhance the interaction and learning between both sides.
