On the morning of April 18^th 2019, Zeng Lu, Vice-President of Huaqiao University (HQU), and Kim Chonghee, Vice-President of Sangmyung University (SMU), South Korea, signed a cooperation agreement on Student and Faculty Exchange Programmes at the Xiamen campus of HQU.

Zeng Lu indicated that HQU has always prioritized international education and both parties should take the opportunity to promote the in-depth collaboration in multi-fields.

Kim Chonghee expressed her expectation of the faculty and students' exchange, since HQU and SMU shared many similarities in such areas as the development of art-related majors and the rationale of international education.

Leaders from HQU's Office of International Exchange and Cooperation and College of Music and Dance as well as leaders from School of Music of SMU also attended the signing ceremony.

As a comprehensive university, SMU provides various disciplines, including humanities, natural science, science of art, sports science, etc., among which art-related majors are its advantage and characteristic. In March, 2019, professors from SMU such as Kim Jeehyun, the famous soprano and director of School of Music, visited HQU to instruct students from College of Music and Dance of HQU and talk over the cooperation between the two universities.
