On July 8th, a graduation ceremony was held at the Comprehensive Hall of Xiamen Campus and Tan Kah Kee Auditorium of Quanzhou Campus respectively. Witnessed by the HQU ceremonial mace, nearly 6,000 graduates turned their tassels and were awarded diplomas by teachers. Passing through the "degree gate", they will leave the college and start their new lives.

      School leaders Guan Yifan, Xu Xipeng, Wu Jihuai, Zeng Lu, Peng Pei, Bi Mingqiang, and president assistant Zhang Yunbo attended the ceremony.

      Vice president Wu Jihuai announced the decision of HQU to confer degrees to 1,058 postgraduates and 4,700 full-time graduates, awarding them doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees. 279 full-time college students completed their studies and were granted graduation. Wu Jihuai presided over the ceremony and served as Guest of Honor for the ceremonial mace.

      President Xu Xipeng delivered a speech titled the Road Ahead Inspires the Youth, encouraging graduates to develop their abilities and strengthen their will for greater value.

      The representatives of teachers and students sent their blessings to graduates and wished them a promising future.

      Lee Weihan, an Indonesia student, was grateful for the opportunities provided by HQU to understand China and learn Chinese culture. "I will return to Indonesia and become a Chinese teacher", Lee said.

      Upon graduation, Li Xuelu from the School of Political Science and Public Administration and some other members from men's basketball team, expressed their gratitude for the cultivation of HQU and supports of fellow teammates, and their hopes as well that HQU would soon win the 10th championships in Chinese University Basketball Association (CUBA).

      The ceremony of this year was live streamed via smartphones and the screen outside the main venue for the first time.
