On November 28, Vice President Charles Wang and Senior Advisor Yu Chunhai from the University of Arizona visited Huaqiao University (HQU). Vice President Wang Xiuyong of HQU hosted the delegation in the Li Keqi Memorial Building, joined by International College representatives, to strengthen institutional ties and foster collaboration.
Vice President Wang Xiuyong provied the guests a brief introduction to the university’s history, distinctive features, and current developments, laying the foundation for a productive dialogue. He highlighted opportunities for collaboration in areas such as student training, faculty exchanges, academic partnerships, and joint research, expressing hope that both parties could reach a consensus to deepen their interactions.
In response, Vice President Charles Wang from the University of Arizona shared his university’s disciplinary strengths, achievements, and successful partnerships in China. He praised HQU’s unique advantages and proposed actionable suggestions to enhance Chinese-foreign cooperative education at HQU. Both sides expressed a shared commitment to advancing collaboration and implementing meaningful joint projects.
The University of Arizona is a prestigious member of the Association of American Universities (AAU), a group of 65 leading research institutions in North America. Its Management Information Systems (MIS) program, along with those at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Carnegie Mellon University, is renowned worldwild and regarded as one of the top programs in the field.
