Quanzhou, China, November 7, 2024 — President Wu Jianping of Huaqiao University (HQU), along with Vice Presidents Wang Xiuyong and Lin Hongyu, warmly welcomed a delegation led by Mr. Xue Zengyi, Senior Vice Chairman of Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group) China and Chairman of its Charity Foundation at the university’s Quanzhou campus. During the event, Vice President Lin Hongyu conferred upon Mr. Xue the titles of Huaqiao University Practical Mentor and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Mentor.
President Wu highlighted the university’s distinctive mission of “serving overseas Chinese and promoting Chinese culture.” He expressed aspirations for collaboration with CP Group in talent development, technological innovation, and fostering Chinese-foreign cultural exchanges. Wu emphasized the shared vision of advancing Sino-Thai relations and contributing to the global Belt and Road Initiative.
In his remarks, Mr. Xue shared CP Group’s century-long journey and emphasized the organization’s demand for professionals adept at integrating Chinese and foreign cultures with a global perspective. He reiterated the Group’s commitment to deepening its partnership with the university.
The meeting focused on key areas such as AI applications, employee training, industrial partnerships, cultural exchange, and student innovation. Preliminary agreements on collaboration were made, reflecting shared goals.
During the visit, CP Group hosted a job fair on campus, offering exclusive employment opportunities to students. Mr. Xue also delivered a lecture on “The Importance of Corporate Culture in the Development of a Century-old Enterprise” providing valuable insights into the principles behind CP Group’s success.
