The 47th Huaqiao University (HQU) Sports Competition at Quanzhou campus concluded on the afternoon of November 2.

The Business School secured the top position in total points among student groups, continuing its winning streak this year. Following closely were the School of Economics and Finance, College of Tourism, School of Law, School of Medicine, College of Fine Arts, School of Political Science and Public Administration, and College of Foreign Languages, which claimed the second to eighth spots, respectively.

In the staff group, the Logistics Union successfully defended its title by finishing first in total points. The Industrial Labor Union, Labor Union of the Organizations (Quanzhou), School of Mathematical Sciences, School of Medicine, College of Engineering, Business School, and School of Economics and Finance, ranked from second to eighth place, demonstrating strong competition across various departments.

After evaluation, the School of Political Science and Public Administration College of Humanities, School of Fine Arts, School of Medicine, Business School, and International School were honored with the Students’ Sportsmanship Award. Meanwhile, the Union of the Organization (Quanzhou Team), along with School of Economics and Finance, Business School and Logistics Union, was recognized for their commitment to sportsmanship by winning the Staff Sportsmanship Award.

Vice President Gou Jin attended the closing ceremony of the Games, where he delivered a speech expressing gratitude to all referees and staff while congratulating the awarded athletes and teams. He remarked, “The Games leave us not only with medals and trophies but also with a positive mindset and collaborative initiative.” Gou encouraged both teachers and students to view this year’s Games as a new starting point, urging them to integrate the spirit and positive energy experienced on the field into their future studies and work.

The Xiamen campus event will be held from November 8thto 9th.
