On Sep 30, Huaqiao University (HQU) News and Quanzhou TV (QZTV) launched their joint international communication project: Quanzhou Maritime Silk Road International Communication Center - Huaqiao University Collaborative Center, and signed a partnership letter of intent.
HQU president Wu Jianping and vice president Lin Hongyu, and Liu Linshuang, member of the standing committee of the CPC Quanzhou Municipal Committee, director of Publicity Department and of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Quanzhou Municipal Committee, unveiled plaque for the collaborative center and “Tongyuan Project” - International Communication Talent Training Base.
This newly-established collaborative venture between HQU News and QZTV represents a significant partnership poised to promote Quanzhou’s international communication. The Center will serve as a dynamic hub for innovation by leveraging Quanzhou’s rich historical and cultural heritage as the starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road, along with HQU’s renowned strengths in international education, research, and communication. Its multifaceted mission encompasses the creation of a premier international communication exhibition, a practical training base, and the formation of a professional international communication team. This collaboration will deepen cooperation between HQU and QZTV, fostering advancements in cultural exchange, academic research, talent training, high-quality content production and global outreach.
Following the signing ceremony, a global recruitment campaign for multilingual anchors for ZAYTON FUNGET (a multilingual integrated media project) was launched. As the inaugural project of Quanzhou Maritime Silk Road International Communication Center, ZAYTON FUNGET has already produced nearly 100 episodes of high-quality multilingual video content that garnered widespread international acclaim. This global recruitment effort seeks to attract anyone with the communication talent and the ability to connect across cultures, to join the team and contribute to the promotion of Quanzhou culture on the global stage.
The ZAYTON GUNGET directors and current anchors hosted anon-campus salon, sharing their insights and experiences in international communication case studies and anecdotes with HQU students and teachers. Students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, overseas Chinese students and other international students engaged in lively discussions with the team, exchanging perspectives on how they can best fit into Chinese mainland and discover the world heritage city of Quanzhou.
