On June 14, the sharing session of the 16th Straits Film and TV Season was held on Xiamen campus of Huaqiao University (HQU). Jiang Erxiong, vice governor of Fujian Province, and Xu Xipeng, secretary of HQU Party Committee, met with participants from Taiwan film and television industry and extended a warm welcome to them.
During the session, representatives of the broadcasting platforms, producers, creators, cross-Strait film and television scholars and students were invited to unravel the popularity of film and TV works from both sides of the Taiwan Straits, such as Taiwan’s hit series New Legend of Madame White Snake, and the Mainland’s hit series Empresses in the Palace, Blossoms Shanghai, Regeneration, The Double, Reblooming Blue and Lost Track of Time. They also explored how the film and TV industry from the both sides of the Taiwan Straits can combine their own advantages and seek mutual benefits.
The session also involved introductions to the best works from previous sessions of Cross-Strait Youth Network Audiovisual Works Exhibition, cloud expo of excellent audiovisual works from both sides of the Straits, Hong Kong and Macao, and cross-Strait youth short video and micro-short drama competition and exhibition.
As part of the 16th Straits Forum, the event was co-hosted by National Radio and Television Administration, People’s Government of Fujian Province, Visual and Audio Production Association of Taiwan, Eastern Broadcasting Company, The Performing Artists Union of Taipei, Taipei Multimedia Production Association (TMPA) and Taiwan Movie Production Development Association, organized by Chinese Association for Radio, Film & TV Exchanges, and co-organized by HQU.
