As part of the “Belt and Road” Talent Development Program, 2023 Unimpeded Trade Senior Seminar opened on October 23, the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI). The seminar was sponsored by the International Cooperation Center of National Development and Reform Commission and Tanoto Foundation and organized by HQU Maritime Silk Road Institute. 21 high-level officials and scholars from 13 countries including Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Tajikistan, Oman, and Iraq participated. This is the seventh consecutive year that the seminar has been held.
The theme of this year’s seminar is “sharing development opportunities and promoting common prosperity”. During the seven-day training, leading domestic experts and scholars will give lectures on the major achievements of the 10th anniversary of BRI, the trends and key prospects for future cooperation, innovations in economic and trade cooperation mechanisms, the construction of the Digital Silk Road and the building of green “Belt and Road”.
On-site teaching will also be a crucial part of this training in which participants will visit the Silk Road Maritime platform, Xiamen Software Park, Jimei New Town Experience Hall, and other well-known industrial parks and maritime terminals in Xiamen, to have in-depth talks and exchanges with the directors. Quanzhou, the starting point of the "Maritime Silk Road", will be another destination on the visiting list. Participants will go to Quanzhou Maritime Museum to learn about the historical origin and progress of the “Belt and Road” trade in the past decade.
Since its first implementation in 2017, the Advanced Training Class of “Belt and Road” Talent Development Program has been successfully held six times, and more than 350 high-level managerial personnel from 48 countries and regions have participated, including government officials, business executives, and researchers. The training program has achieved remarkable results and received a positive response both at home and abroad.
