The Fourth Computer Education Conference of China (CECC), undertaken by Huaqiao University (HQU), was held in the Xiamen International Conference Center from April 21st to 22nd. The conference is co-sponsored by Computer Science Teaching Steering Committee, Software Engineering Teaching Steering Committee, Cyberspace Security Teaching Steering Committee, and Computer-related Courses Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. The conference is organized by Huaqiao University, Xiamen University, Jimei University and MSUP, and co-organized by Tsinghua University Press, Higher Education Press, China Machine Press, Publishing House of Electronic Industry, and Posts & Telecom Press.

Zhao Qinping, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Yaoxue, Chairman of Software Engineering Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Wu Jianping, Chairman of Computer Science Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhuang Rongliang, Vice Mayor of Xiamen, and Wu Jianping, President of Huaqiao University attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches respectively. The opening ceremony was presided over by Zheng Qinghua, Co-chairman of the conference, Chairman of Computer-related Courses Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education, and President of Tongji University.

Themed “New Era, New challenges and New tasks”, the conference comprised the keynote report, two sub-forums of Teaching Steering Committee, the awarding ceremony of the Ministry of Education - Huawei “Smart Base” Excellent Teacher Incentive Plan and five sub-forums. The conference was attended by more than 100 leaders and experts from academic, educational and industrial circles in computer, as well as over 3,000 university teachers and students. 12 academicians in computer field, including Zhao Qinping, Zhang Yaoxue, Wu Jianping, Lv Jian, Liao Xiangke, Gui Weihua, Chen Chun, Zhang Yaqin, and Jiang Changjun were invited to deliver professional reports, they shared and exchanged views with scholars and experts in concerning areas, on hot issues like computer education, new computer technologies, personnel training and industrial development. Gou Jin, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Technology, was invited to preside over the forum on computer systems. An exhibition of CECC characteristic culture, Live Show for academic exchanges, and visiting activities by software information and high-tech enterprises in Xiamen were held to promote in-depth exchanges between industries, universities and research institutes.

The conference also provided a good interactive platform for more than 30 teachers and nearly 300 students from College of Computer Science and technology of our university to expand their mind and learn. In addition, more than 170 HQU young volunteers served on the conference, they won critical acclaim from organizers and conferees for rigorous and conscientious attitude.

Since its establishment in 2019, CECC has exerted a wide influence on both education and industry of computer science in China. The convening of this conference is to further the construction of computer major and its personnel training, to promote the deep integration between universities and enterprises, and, as practical measures, to implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China（CPC）.
