Malaysian PM Meets HQU Postgraduate to Promote China-Malaysia Cooperation

Recently, Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Prime Minister of Malaysia, met Dato Keith Li, leader of the postgraduate Class of 2024 in Malaysia regional studies at the College of International Relations of Huaqiao University (HQU). Ismail Sabri Yaakob spoke highly of Dato Keith Li’scontribution to the 2022China Smart Industry Trade Exhibition and Forum and expected that he would play a greater role in the sound development of Malaysia-China relations.


Dato Keith Li is the incumbent president of China Entrepreneurs Association in Malaysia (PUCM). On September 6th,the 2022China Smart Industry Trade Exhibition and Forum hosted by the PUCM opened in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah and Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The event attracted around 50 Chinese and Malaysian technology companies and organizations to share high-end products and technologies on the digital economy, smart finance, smart city, and smart security. Moreover, a number of companies and organizations signed cooperation agreements at the event.


According to Dato Keith Li, PUCM held the first China smart industry trade exhibition in 2019, and it held the trade exhibition and the forum again when the COVID-19 was easing in a hope to further promote the cooperation and exchanges between Malaysian and Chinese enterprises in smart technology and the related fields.


The postgraduate class in Malaysia regional studies of the Chinese community started in 2019 and has enrolled students from local Chinese political parties, businesses, media, schools, and other major Chinese associations for four consecutive years.


The PUCM was founded in December 2015 with Dato Keith Li as the founding president. The association currently has over 160 company members, including Chinese central, state-owned, and private enterprises, creating a large number of new jobs in Malaysia.
