On Sept 1, Prof. Wu Jihuai’s research group from Engineering Research Center of Environment-Friendly Functional Materials of Ministry of Education, College of Material Science and Engineering and Institute of Materials Physical Chemistry of Huaqiao University (HQU), published a paper titled “Photocapacitor integrating voltage-adjustable hybrid supercapacitor and silicon solar cell generating a Joule efficiency of 86%” (DOI:10.1039/D2EE01744J) inEnergy & Environmental Science,a top-ranked international journal with the latest impact factor of 39.714. The findings mark a breakthrough made by Wu’s team in photocapacitor, a frontier in energy science.

Song Zeyu, a fresh doctoral graduate, is the first author, and Wu Jihuai the corresponding author, with HQU as the first affiliation. The research is conducted in cooperation with Prof. Mohammad Khaja Nazeeruddin from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne and Academician Huang Wei’s team from Northwestern Polytechnical University.

The research was funded by Joint Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China to Promote the S&T Cooperation on Both Sides of the Taiwan Strait (Grant No. U1705256) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
