HQU Shuifen Xie's Group Published in ACS Catalysis and Small

Green hydrogen could be a critical enabler of China’s carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals. One key to green hydrogen production via electrolysis of water is the research and development of electrode catalytic materials with high activity and high stability. The latest findings in the field of green hydrogen catalytic materials by Prof. Shuifen Xie’s research group from College of Materials Science and Engineering were recently published in the top international academic journals ACS Catalysis and Small.


On April 19th, their paper titled Two-Dimensionally Assembled Pd-Pt-Ir Super-nanosheets with Subnanometer Interlayer Spacings toward High-efficiency and Durable Water Splitting was published in ACS Catalysis. This research was supervised by Prof. Shuifen Xie (corresponding author), conducted by doctoral student Zixi Lv (first author) and graduate student Xinyan Liao (co first author).




On April 14th, another paper from Xie’s group titled Equilibrated PtIr/IrOx Atomic Heterotopic on Ultrafine 1D Nanowires Enable Superior Dual-electrocatalysis for Overall Water Splitting was published in Small. Supervised by Prof. Xie Shuifen (corresponding author), this work was jointly completed by doctoral student Hongpu Huang (first author) and Dr. Luhong Fu (co first author). Dr. Xue Zhang of the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences completed the theoretical calculations in both papers.



ACS Catalysis is the flagship journal in the field of catalysis of the American Chemical Society (ACS). It is also one of the internationally recognized top journals in chemistry with a current IF of 13.084. Small is flagship journal in nanomaterials published by Wiley, with a current IF of 13.281. Both are the top journals of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Both researches was funded by the Scientific Research Foundation of HQU, the Natural Science Foundation of Fujian Province, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
