When entering the Year of the Tiger, overseas Chinese students from Indonesia, the Philippines, Mauritius and other countries from “Voice of Overseas Students”, a New Media Studio of Huaqiao University (HQU) travelled across Fujian province to learn Intangible Cultural Heritage skills, experience Chinese New Year customs and traditions, and film a series of short videos entitled "My Experience with Intangible Cultural Heritage in China" to introduce Chinese culture to overseas netizens, and get linked with the youth of the world via “Youth Discourse”. Many videos have been retweeted by People's Daily and CRI Online of China Media Group (GMG).

During the Lantern Festival, the overseas Chinese students also went to Fujian Tulou to experience the traditional Chinese dragon and lion dances, riddle games, Tangyuan (glutinous rice balls) and boneless festive lanterns making, feel the charm of folk culture of Chinese Spring Festival and capture the family reunion with the camera.

Since its establishment in 2020, the New Media Studio "Voice of Overseas Students" has attracted more than 200 international students from 16 countries, including the United States, Ireland, Angola, Thailand, the Philippines and Peru, to participate in the video shooting, and produced 184 original Chinese-English bilingual short videos on topics such as "Wonderful China" and "Chinese Vaccines Overseas", which have been cumulatively played nearly 100 million times.
