Nearly 400 Overseas Youths Attend 2021 Online Chinese Culture Land -- UK and Portugal Camp

On December 20th, the opening ceremony of 2021 Chinese Culture Land -- UK and Portugalcamp was held online. 391 overseas Chinese youths from the UK, Portugal, France and Italy participated in the event.


The 2021 online camp is hosted by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, organized by Huaqiao University (HQU), and co-organized by UK Association for the Promotion of Chinese Education, Escola Chinesa de Lisboa of Portugal, Honor Language School of Portugal, A.L.C.I.E. of France (speciallyinvited) and Scuola Internazionale Italo Cinese of Italy (specially invited). The 12-day event will include traditional courses such as Chinesesongssinging, folk dancing, Chinese handicrafts, crayon drawing, Chinese painting, calligraphy, martial arts, fun Chinese language, and poetry recitation. To meet the needs of overseas Chinese schools, featured courses such as fun mathematics and learning to cook Chinese dishes, and lectures on2022 Megatrends -- Mobile Marketing Strategies,Life EducationandChinese Folk Dance Appreciationwill also be offered. Besides, it will provide real-view classes to show Shaolin Temple, Chinese cuisine and beautiful scenery in China tooverseas Chinese youths.


Chinese Culture Land, one ofthebranded events of Overseas Chinese Language Education organized by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, is designed to promote the inheritance of Chinese culture abroad and enhance the awareness and understanding of Chinese culture in local communities. Through constant exploration and practice, this edition will be conducted both inside and outside the classrooms to increase the interactivity and fun of the coursesandenhance the interest and enthusiasm of overseas Chinese youths in learning Chinese culture via live streaming, recorded broadcast and WeChat class groups. It is hoped that in this way participants can better “tell Chinese stories” from the perspective of youths and spread the voice of China to the world.
