ShanghaiRanking recently released the 2021 edition of Best Chinese Subjects rankings. Huaqiao University (HQU) ranks 96^thwith 16 subjects on the list.

Applied economics and business administration are among the top 20% of the rankings. Philosophy, mechanical engineering, architecture, Marxist theory, and foreign languages and literature rank in the top 30%. Materials science and engineering, political science, mathematics, and software engineering enter the top 40%. The other five subjects, i.e., chemistry, civil engineering, chemical engineering, law, and Chinese language and literature, are in the top 50%.

Compared with the 2020 edition, mechanical engineering, architecture, and foreign language and literature rank much higher, and political science makes the list.
