On September 12^th, Xu Xipeng, Party Committee Secretary of HuaqiaoUniversity (HQU), exchanged with some overseas students inChengzhiFreshmen Training Camp.

He hoped that the students could cherish the hard-won learning opportunities, take time to appreciate the campus culture of HQU and the profound urban culture of Quanzhou and Xiamen, and experience the brand activities on campus that are distinctive of a school for overseas Chinese. When their study and life get on track, they can tell the stories of China and HQU to their schoolmates and friends in their own languages, so that more people can understand a comprehensive, three-dimensional and real China and even aspire to study at HQU. Xu also urged the students to pay attention to their personal precaution and protection so as to keep themselves and others safe since we’re still facing severe epidemic situation.

On September 8^th,the overseas new-comers started their college life in a 12-day “Chengzhi” Freshman Training Camp which includes a series of colorful cultural lectures such asIntroduction to Classics of Chinese Studies,China and the WorldunderOur Internal and International Imperatives,New China and the Image of China,World Heritage in China,International Hot Issues and Global Governance, andCross-cultural Communicationto promote the exchanges and mutual learning of Chinese and foreign civilizations. The camp also provids other practical courses such as the cultural experience of Gendang Cina.
