HQU Wins Outstanding Organization Unit Award of the Second Contest of Promoting BRICS Cooperation in Industrial Innovation

On September 7, the opening ceremony of 2021 BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Forum was held in Xiamen. It was co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of the People’s Republic of China, China Council for BRICS Think-tank Cooperation, People’s Government of Fujian Province and Xiamen Municipal People’s Government. Xiao Yaqing, Minister of MIIT, Yin Li, Secretary of CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, and Wang Ning, Governor of Fujian Province attended the ceremony. Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of MIIT presided over the opening ceremony. Representatives from government authorities, enterprises, think tanks and research institutes of BRICS countries and certain international organizations also attended the meeting. HQU President Wu Jianping attended the forum and related activities on behalf of the university.


Later in the morning, the Second Contest of Promoting BRICS Cooperation in Industrial Innovation held the awarding ceremony. HQU, China Mobile Communications Corporation and Harbin Engineering University won Outstanding Organizational Unit Awards. Zheng Hong, Director of the Center for International Economic and Technical Cooperation of MIIT, Zhu Ke’er, Deputy Director of Department of International Cooperation of MIIT, and Chen Chuanfang, Deputy Director of Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology presented the awards.


As a supporting unit for the Second Contest of Promoting BRICS Cooperation in Industrial Innovation, HQU organized competitions in Fujian Province. During the preparatory stage, HQU’s Youth League Committee drew support from the “Internet +” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and others activities. It recommended cutting-edge science and technology projects with innovation potential and application value centering on three contesting areas, i.e., Industrial Interconnection, Smart Manufacturing and Green Cycle, and assisted in the promotion of the Contest. Altogether 57 projects from colleges and universities in Fujian province were collected for the organizing committee.
