On the evening of June 30th, Huaqiao University (HQU) held a gala titled “Standing with CPC, Overseas Chinese will forge ahead in the new era” in the auditorium of Tan Kah Kee Memorial Hall to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). HQU leaders Xu Xipeng, Wu Jianping, Liu Bin, Peng Pei, Bi Mingqiang, Wang Xiuyong, Wang Lixia and some retired leaders, “Memorial Medals for 50-year Party Membership” winners as well as recipients of “National Outstanding Party Members, Party Workers and Advanced Grassroots Party Organizations” in universities, schools and other units of Fujian Province watched the performance together with HQU’s faculty and students.

Focusing on the CPC’s 100-year struggle, the great performances showcasedthe magnificent pictures of the CPC leading Chinese people to forge ahead and strive for new victories in revolutionary construction and reform over the past 100 years, eulogizing the party’s solicitude and support for the school-running cause ofHQU -- a 60-year-old Overseas Chinese University.
