Prof. Guo Kesha of School of Economics and Finance of Huaqiao University (HQU) and his doctoral student, Peng Jizong, published their co-authored paper titledThe Strategic Position and Influence of Manufacturing in China’s New Developing Stagein the fifth issue ofSocial Sciences in China2021, .

The paper intensively studied the strategic position and influence of manufacturing in China’s new developing stage in terms of economic theories and international experience. It discussed the learning experience of other major countries when they generally implement manufacturing development strategies and promotion policies in the middle-income stage. The paper also proposed that during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period (2021-2025), China should strengthen the policy guidance and formulate medium and long term strategic plans that concern the development of manufacturing, and achieve medium-high-level growth of manufacturing by promoting its high-quality development.
