On May 26^th, Wu Jianping, President of Huaqiao University, met with board members and alumni in Macao.

Luo Yonggang, deputy director of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR and Vice Chairman of HQU’s Board of Directors; Tong Chi Kin, Vice Chairman of HQU’s Board of Directors; Deputy Secretary-General Li Peilin; Directors Xu Ting, Ma Youli, Chan Meng Kam and Wang Bincheng; Chen Zijin, President of HQU’s Macao Foundation of Education, Feng Jiahui, Supervisor of HQU’s Macao Foundation of Education, Huang Jin, Secretary-General of HQU’s Macao Foundation of Education; Zhang Jianzhong, HQU’s visiting professor; Lin Huilian, Honorary President of HQU’s Alumni in Macao; Yan Yiheng and Wang Yujie, Senior Vice-Chairman and President of HQU’s Alumni in Macao, attended the meeting.

President Wu introduced the personnel training, scientific research, cultural communication of HQU and its enrollment and education management in Macao, and he also explained the school’s interdisciplinary planning and educational philosophy—“Dingtian, Lidi, Shuren”, which aims to conduct frontier research, to focus on technological innovation and transformation, and to cultivate talents. Then he thoroughly exchanged with Board of Directors and alumni on exploring a new talent training mode for Macao youth and strengthening cooperation with universities in Macao.

In the meeting, school board directors and alumni expressed their strong emotions for Huaqiao University, and were greatly inspired by school’s achievements in recent years. They sincerely hoped that the school could seize the opportunities of the“14th Five-Year Plan” and the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, so as to cultivate more patriotic talents who love both the country and the Macao SAR for economic diversification in Macao.

During his visit in Macao, President Wu also visited Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC in the Macao SAR, and met with Ma Iao Hang, a prestigious personage in Macao and Ma Zhicheng, member of the Board of Directors.

Leaders from Office of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Overseas Chinese Affairs, Office of Board of Directors/Office of Alumni Association and Liaison Office in Macao accompanied to attend the event.
