Huaqiao University (HQU) students won gold medal in the 45th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Asian-East Continental Final Contest, held at Northwestern Polytechnical University on April 18. “Rising Sun”, the team from HQU made up of Zhao Yuyang from College of Computer Science and Technology, Xu Cong from College of Information Science and Engineering, and Zheng Liang from School of Mathematical Sciences, and supervised by Luo Wei, took the first place for their outstanding performance. They achieved the best result in HQU history of this event and are expected to get to the 2021 ICPC World Finals.

This year, a total of 291 teams, including the top 50 teams in ICPC Asia Regional Contests and invited teams participated in the competition. 29 gold medals, 58 silver medals and 87 bronze medals were awarded in the contest.
