With a commitment to promoting its reputation as a university for overseas students and fulfill Malaysian students’ demand for further education, Huaqiao University (HQU) hosted three consecutive online admissions workshops from Jan. 9 to Jan. 15, introducing HQU’s basic information and admission requirements to over 2,500 Malaysian students, parents and teachers.

Since Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Unified Examination Certificate were postponed due to the local COVID-19 pandemic, HQU made corresponding adjustments on its application deadlines and admission process, and extended the  application for foundation programmes to the end of February. In order to do better in college admissions in other countries and regions continuously, HQU will join hands with various overseas representative offices and admissions offices to carry out online promotion of admissions events.

In addition, HQU held another two similar online workshops for Malaysian students in a variety of ways such as promotional video, PPT presentation, and case demonstration. Efforts were made to bring detailed introductions on HQU’s campuses, discipline strengths, admission requirements, and cultivation features, and to answer the students’ questions about majors and application.

Thanks to the early promotion and publicity through online and offline media including local newspapers and Facebook from HQU’s representative office in Malaysia, more than 1,500 Malaysian secondary students have made an appointment to attend the workshops. On that precise day, more than 210 students participated in the presentation through the live meeting room, and 1,643 watched the live broadcast through Facebook and other channels.
