The 2021 New Year Concert of Huaqiao University (HQU) was staged in Tan Kah Kee Memorial Hall on the evening of December 24. Musicians from Shanghai Jasmine Symphony Orchestra played classical musical masterpieces from China and abroad, welcoming 2021 with more than 1,000 HQU teachers and students.

The Concert is sponsored by the Publicity Department and Student Affairs Department of the university. School leaders such as Wu Jianping, Liu Bin and Peng Pei also joined the audience.

Formerly known as Shanghai City North Symphony Orchestra established in 2004, Shanghai Jasmine Symphony Orchestra was set up in 2019. The Orchestra now has more than 70 musicians, who either graduated from Shanghai and other domestic conservatories of music, or are returned overseas performers or accomplished musicians. The lead vocals and main performers are from Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Opera House Orchestra, etc.
