Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China recently announced the winners of the 8th Science Research Famous Achievement Award in Higher Institution (Humanities and Social Sciences). Three achievements of Huaqiao University (HQU) won the second prize, achieving its historic breakthrough in the number and grade of awards in the highest level of humanities and social sciences award.
These three award-winning achievements are Professor Guo Kesha's paper Demand Restriction on Long-term Economic Growth: Growth Theory from a Political Economy Perspective and Its Application, Professor Xing Zunming's Paper Policy Practices, Distribution Risks and Efficiency Improvement of the Guiding Funds in China’s Local Sports Industry -- Based on the Survey and Analysis in 8 Provinces and Associate Professor Luo Wenwei's Advisory service Report.
A total of 1,539 achievements (including those from universities in Hong Kong and Macao) have won the award this time. Among them, there are 1,241 awards for works and papers, including 152 first-class awards, 783 second-class and 306 third-class ones, and 77 Advisory Service Report Awards, including 10 First Prizes, 47 Second Prizes and 20 Third Prizes. Besides, 20 Popularization Books and 201 Youth Achievements have also been awarded.
