Wang Lixia, Vice President of Huaqiao University (HQU), received a delegation led by Huang Wei, CEO of Beijing Unisound Information Technology Co., Ltd, in the Administrative Research and Development Building on Xiamen Campus on May 28, 2020.

Founded in 2012, Unisound is a high-tech company focusing on Internet of Things (IoT) Artificial Intelligence (AI) services, possessing the world-leading artificial speech recognition technology with fully independent intellectual properties. It is one of the few AI companies that own the capability of a full-technology chain, covering algorithm, computing power, and chip development.

Wang Lixia introduced HQU in terms of its disciplinary construction, personnel cultivation, social services, etc. She noted that HQU highly emphasizes the education model of school-enterprise cooperation and has made much practice and exploration in applying industry-lecture-research integration to the cultivation of high-end and practical talents. She hoped that Unisound and HQU can deepen cooperation in various fields, further the construction in characteristics disciplines and AI new engineering majors, explore construction scheme of institute of technology in the future, innovate the talent cultivation mode, and build industry-lecture-research integration platforms such as Chinese language and culture education cloud services. She also expected more practical cooperation in aspects such as AI plus Chinese language and culture education, smart city and big data application, block chain construction, etc.

Huang Wei stated that Unisound not only leads in algorithm and has the ability to apply algorithm to chips and the ability of super computer platforms, and also boasts the ability to realize technologies into commercial practice. Extensive applications can be found in fields including automobiles, aerospace, health care and education. He expected to utilize HQU's academic advantages to expand bilateral cooperation, co-build industry-lecture-research integration platforms combining AI with professional disciplines, explore a new talent training mode of technological innovation and build a long-term mechanism of win-win cooperation and coordinated innovation, so as to implement technological innovation and explore solutions to problems in discipline construction, cultivation of integrated talents and construction of smart life arising in Chinese language and culture education and technology discipline in the future.
