Recently, Dr. Luo Genggeng's team from College of Materials Science and Engineering, Huaqiao University (HQU) has made important progress in the field of inorganic nano-clusters with atomic accuracy. The paper, titled "Sodalite-Type Silver Orthophosphate Cluster in a Globular Silver Nanocluster" (DOI: 10.1002/anie.202003143 and 10.1002/ange.202003143), was published in the top-level international journal Angewandte Chemie and was invited to be the cover paper. Angewandte Chemie is currently one of the most influential comprehensive publications in the field of Chemistry and Materials, ranking Top in JCR Q1.
A. Unit cell of the bulk Ag3PO4;
B. Sodalite-type SOC {Ag3PO4)8};
C. Truncated octahedral structure;
D. Electrostatic potential map of the SOC {(Ag3PO4)8};
E. Truncated icosahedron C60;
F. Small rhombicosidodecahedron Ag60.
Under the guidance of Dr. Luo Genggeng (first corresponding author), the work was completed with HQU as the first affiliation in collaboration of Shandong University and Southern Methodist University (USA). PhD student Deng Chenglong and lecturer Sun Cunfa, both from HQU's College of Materials Science and Engineering, and Wang Zhi from Shandong University are co-first authors. Dr. Chen Yilin, Prof. Lin Bizhou and Prof. Lin Jinqing also contributed to the paper. Dr. Luo Genggeng and Prof. Sun Di of Shandong University are corresponding authors. The research was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Provincial Fund of Fujian.
