Dear Overseas Students of Huaqiao University:

First of all, we would like to extend our New Year greetings to all the students and your families.

Due to the threat of COVID-19, Huaqiao University (HQU) has decided to delay the official opening of this university term and move our teaching and learning from the brick and mortar to online. However, as some students are from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other parts of the world, we understand that the feasibility of the online education may be affected by problems such as the accessibility of the internet and the time difference.

HQU attaches enough importance to such obstacles and fully takes all students' problems into consideration. Measures will be taken to ensure online learning, including sharing courseware, uploading learning materials, online tutoring, and offering tutorial groups as well as Q&A meetings when you return to school. We hope you will ease your anxiety, maintain a good state of mind, become an active learner under the guidance of your teachers and complete the corresponding learning tasks on your own.

Dangerous though the disease is, it can't stop us from teaching and learning. We look forward to seeing you all when you eventually join us here in Quanzhou and Xiamen after the epidemic.
