The 2019 "Root-Seeking Tour" Winter Camp --- Chinese South African Teenager Winter Camp of Huaqiao University (HQU) was held at HQU recently. It is sponsored by All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and hosted by Fujian Returned Overseas Chinese Federation and HQU. Nearly 50 Chinese teachers and students from Durban Shude Chinese School, South Africa and Chinese School of Chinese Language and Culture Education Foundation, South Africa, visited Quanzhou and Xiamen to learn and experience traditional Chinese and Minnan culture.
During the 10-day camp, besides offering courses of traditional Chinese culture, HQU also arranged a variety of activities for the campers to experience firsthand the glamour of calligraphy and traditional Chinese paintings, to seek Hakka roots in Nanjing Earthen Buildings, to strengthen the spirit of excellent traditional culture in Chinese dragon boat racing, and to build the dream of national rejuvenation by taking high-speed rail and visiting Kulangsu.
