In the 2019 Fujian University Talent Show for International Students, Overseas Chinese Students and Students from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, four programs selected by Huaqiao University (HQU) won three First Prizes, one Second Prize and the Best Skill Award in four categories. HQU also won the Excellent Organization Award.
Sponsored by Fujian Provincial Department of Education and organized by Minnan Normal University, the show is themed "Enchanted by the Beauty of Chinese Red, Searching the Love Rooted in Fujian", attracting more than 450 international students, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students, and overseas Chinese, and teachers from 23 universities throughout Fujian province.
On the morning of December 29th, HQU's music instrument performance 24 Festive Drums ---- Heng won the First Prize in the final of Quyi (Chinese folk art forms). In the final of Dance & Sports, HQU’s Diabolo performance Starlight won the Second Prize and the Best Skill Award.
In the final of Chinese Language held in the afternoon, Zheng Yuzhu, a Myanmarese student from Chinese Language and Culture College (HQU), won the first prize with "Love of the Maritime Silk Road, Dream of the Hometown" in the International Student group, and Hui Yi-kit, a Hong Kong student from School of Political Science and Public Administration (HQU), won the first prize with "70 Wonderful Years of New China" in the category of students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and overseas Chinese.
