From December 18^th to 25^th, Zeng Lu, Vice President of Huaqiao University (HQU)，led a delegation, including heads of Office of International Exchanges and Cooperation, Board of Directors Office and Department of Chinese Language and Culture Education, to the Philippines and Thailand. Apart from signing the agreement on the establishment of Confucius Institute with Ateneo De Davao University of the Philippines (AdDU) and discussing the establishment of HQU Alumni Association in the Philippines, the delegation also held the board meeting of the Confucius Classroom and the Confucius Institute and visited the directors as well as the alumni, with the purpose of conducting extensive exchanges with the local universities and Chinese Language and Culture Education Institutes as well as introducing HQU's current situation and admission policy.

During the stay in Davao in the Philippines, Zeng Lu, representative of HQU,  signed an agreement with Joel Eduque Tabora, President of AdDU on the establishment of the Confucius Institute，including the composition, tasks, working mechanism and financial affairs of the Board of Directors.

During the stay in Davao, the delegation visited the City Government of Davao and was received by Vice Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte.

The delegation also visited some alumni in Davao. In Manila, the delegation achieved a consensus on the establishment of HQU Alumni Association in the Philippines with cadres of Philippines alumni after sound communication.

In Bangkok, Thailand, the delegation held the 2019 board meeting of Confucius Classroom at Phuket Wittayalai School and the 2019 board meeting of Confucius Institute of Kasetsart University successively. After the work report, both parties had an in-depth discussion on the development of the Confucius Classroom and the Confucius Institute, as well as the creation and design of the brand projects. Moreover, they proposed applying for the Excellent Confucius Institute at the headquarters of Confucius Institute.

The delegation also visited the Senate of Thailand, the Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association, Krirk University and Dr. Vichit Lolurlert, director of HQU and chairman of Chinese Teachers（Thailand）Association. In the meeting with HQU's Thailand Alumni Association, they discussed and reached a consensus on the 60^th anniversary of HQU, the 40^th anniversary of the foundation of Thailand Alumni Association and work of HQU's office in Thailand.
