On December 5^th, Huaqiao University (HQU) won one Gold and two Silver Medals as well as seven Excellence Awards in the 2019 Fujian Volunteer Service Project Competition, which themed on "Carry out voluntary activities throughout Fujian, build dreams in the new ear". A total of 414 projects participated in the competition across the province，10 Gold Awards, 20 Silvers, 30 Bronzes as well as 100 Excellence Awards respectively. This Competition, co-hosted by Fujian Provincial Civilization Office, League Committee, Department of Civil Affairs, Department of Water Resources, Health Commission, Women's Federation and Disabled Persons' Federation, aims to foster and nourish volunteer organizations, and to play a further active role in key tasks including poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, innovative social governance and building practice centers of new era civilization.

In recent years, HQU has cultivated a number of sustainable brand volunteer projects with specialized characteristics by gradually promoting the system construction measures ranging from the establishment of brand team, brand team star-rating evaluation, "Love Calendar" project, to the district and local co-construction of "good-neighborliness" bases. A total of eight projects has won Gold and Silver Awards in Chinese youth volunteer service project competition.
