On December 1st, Huaqiao University held the 23rd Love in Late Autumn Speech Contest final, centering on patriotism for freshmen in the Tan Kah Kee Memorial Hall.
The contest was on the theme of "Forging a New Era by Cherishing the 7 Glory Decades", which was hosted by the Office of Academic Affairs, the Division of Students' Affairs, Youth League Committee and the School of Marxism, and undertaken by the School of Political Science and Public Administration, and the School of Philosophy and Social Development.
The final fell into two parts, namely keynote speech and impromptu speech; it's the stage of the sixteen contestants who stood out from the preliminary round. After fierce competition, Su Si from the School of Economics and Finance and Xu Dong from the School of Architecture won the Top Prize of China’s mainland students and overseas Chinese students respectively. Two contestants, for example, Tian Jun from the School of Political Science and Public Administration, won the First Prize, and three, including Xu Liang from the College of Business Administration, won the Second Prize, and six, including Li Wenjing from the Chinese Language and Culture College, the Third Prize.
