The 16th "Challenge Cup" National College Students' Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest has released its results recently. Six works from Huaqiao University (HQU) were on the list, among which the work focusing on Taiwan youth won the second prize and five other works won the third prize. HQU’s group achievements were reported by China Youth Daily.
The work of the School of Economics and Finance of HQU, named Research on How the Preferential Policies "31 Measures" Attract Taiwan Youth: Based on a Survey of 18-29 Taiwan Youth by Qiu Yejian etc. (Tutor: Chen Wenshou), won the second prize. It investigated both China's Mainland and Taiwan to explore the influences of the "31 Measures" on Taiwan. The survey focused on Taiwan youth aged 18-29 and conducted a field research in 9 universities in Taiwan, including Taipei University, Taiwan Chiao Tung University, etc., as well as Huaqiao University and Xiamen University. 500 questionnaires were distributed to 100 Taiwan youths and 15 representatives were interviewed, covering academia, politics, and business across the straits, and a number of Taiwan workers and entrepreneurs.
The final judgment of this contest was held at Beihang University from November 7th to November 13th. After a fierce competition, 1513 works were selected into the national contest. 426 works from 204 universities across China later gained their entrance tickets into the final round.
