On November 7th, the micro film Yin Yuan submitted by the School of Journalism and Communication of Huaqiao University (authors: Jiang Xiaoting, Zhou Jiadi, Li Wenhui, Chen Yiying and Huang Yuxin; instructors: Guo Yanmei, Huang Zhihao, Zhong Li and Zhang Yueming) was awarded Outstanding Work at the 7th Asia Microfilm Art Festival held in Lincang, Yunnan Province.
It tells the story of Kulangsu piano repairman Huang Sanyuan who repaired the clavichord. The creators spent three months on follow-up interviews and on-the-spot shooting. Huang is an internationally renowned piano tuner and China’s first-class senior piano technician from Xiamen. He used to be the youngest senior tuner in Chinese music industry. Apart from disclosing details of piano tuning, the film also included his teaching in college. Endowed with distinctive local elements of Xiamen and abundant artistic images, the work is full of tension, depicting the current practical problems in piano repairing and tuning.
The Asia Microfilm Art Festival is jointly hosted by China Television Artists Association, Central Studio of News Reels Production, Publicity Department of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee, Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Yunnan Provincial Administration of Radio and Television, and Lincang Municipal People's Government.
