The selection on volunteer Chinese teachers for the first half of 2020 has started in Huaqiao University (HQU) recently. The program introduction meeting has been held respectively in Quanzhou and Xiamen campuses of HQU to help the students have a better understanding of the program and make an appropriate decision. According to the selection plan of volunteers for international Chinese teaching by the Confucius Institute Headquarters, 867 volunteers will be recruited first from its collaborative universities or colleges in China, while another 2,150 volunteers from the other types of colleges. Among them, 53 volunteers will be sent to Confucius Institutes cooperated by HQU and its overseas collaborators.

To date, the University has sent out 617 graduates and postgraduates from sixteen colleges to forty countries since 2006.
