The 13th National Exhibition of Fine Arts has released the re-evaluation results recently. EIGHT works created by the teachers and students from College of Fine Arts, Huaqiao University (HQU) were on the list, reaching a record high.
Among these works, six of them were created by teachers, including Flexible Hand by Song Wu, "Xiaolandian": E-Mopeds under New GB Standard by Yang Xuetai, Automatic Draining Manhole Cover by Lin Yelin and Cui Hongliang, Peace in Snow Field by Jin Chengbin, Our Sky by Wangshuang and Modern Ru Crafts by Zhang Chenzhi. The other two were created by undergraduates from Hong Kong and Macao, which are Fireworks in Victoria Harbor: Celebration of Hong Kong's Reunion by Yuan Jingxi from Hong Kong, and Embracing Macao: Being Inclusive by Li Shujuan from Macao. In addition, Professor Wang Eryi was appointed as a judge on comprehensive material paintings of this exhibition by China Artists Association.
It is the first time that the works of students from Huaqiao University have been listed on the exhibition, and more encouragingly, they are from Hong Kong and Macao respectively.
Besides, Jiang Wenjia, Ouyang Tao, Guo Zijian and Zhang Hailong, oil painting graduates of HQU's College of Fine Arts, were on the list, among which Jiang Wenjia's work was nominated for the award. The works of four teachers and two traditional Chinese painting freshmen were also selected into Fujian Fine Arts Exhibition & the 13th National Exhibition of Fine Arts of Fujian Selected Works: Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.
Held every five years, the National Exhibition of Fine Arts is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and China Artists Association with its authoritative and comprehensive exhibition at the national level. This year's 13th exhibition coincides with the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The selected works of HQU's College of Fine Arts cover Fine Arts and Design, consisting of industrial design, comics, lacquer painting, crafts, etc., which is an overall growth in both the number and categories at this year’s exhibition compared with previous ones.
