Xu Xipeng, President of Huaqiao University (HQU) recently led a delegation to Taiwan, visiting HQU emeritus professor, Mr. Au Ho-Nien, a leading painter of the Lingnan School. HQU accepted dozens of art donations from Mr. Au Ho-Nien, with whom President Xu Xipeng and Board director Professor To Cho Yee discussed about starting Au Ho-Nien Museum in Siduan Heritage Museum.
The delegation also visited Chinese Culture University (CCU), Au Ho-Nien Cultural Foundation, etc, taking part in the 10th Anniversary of HQU Taiwan Alumni Association. President Xu Xipeng respectively held a talk with PCCU President Shing-Ching Shyu and President of Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU), Dr. Han-Sun Chiang.
Professor Au Ho-Nien, representing the Lingnan School of Painting, was born in Bopu, Wuchuan, Guangdong, and resided in Taiwan in 1970. He became a student of the Lingnan School master painter Chao Shao-an, and is now widely recognized as a leading contemporary artist in Chinese painting. His painting specializes in flower and birds, landscape, figure and wilderness, along with his expertise in calligraphy and poetry, all of which contribute to a variety of styles. Au has come to teach in HQU four times respectively since 2009 when he was appointed as an emeritus professor.
